near Stateline Baptist Church at the time of his brother-in-law, John Edgar Prince's death. About a year after that, he and
his family, along with his sister Carrie Prince and nephew Joseph Prince, he moved to what is now Four Columns Farm to become
a sharecropper on the old Earle place. He planted about 30 acres in cotton & about 10 acres in bottom land. The cotton
field is now a new development. Oliver used to tell tall tales, one in particular was about the Devil coming to his house
one night & put a saddle on him & rode him all night, then left the saddle hanging by the door the next morning. Oliver
was a bootlegger & made corn whiskey. Both Oliver & Mary were buried at Landrum Cemetery, Landrum, SC. Children

at the school. Joseph's next job was at the Spartanburg Hospital. They didn't really have housing, so he spent the first
nights at the Salvation Army. They came & got him & took him to the textile school for a few months until the textile
